Corot is a farm house which was built more than 100 years ago. It is built in the traditional manner and is thus not air-conditioned. However, the cool breeze blowing through trees keeps the temperature inside Corot pleasant. In winters, the Kotatsu, Irori and oil heaters will keep you all warm.
This house has 4 spacious tatami rooms (30 tatami mats in total, i.e. 49.587 m2), an Irori room, living room, Goemonburo with a gas-heated shower, shower toilet, a furnished kitchen cum dining room with tableware for about 20 guests.
The toilet is shared with the guests of the rental farm.
Goemonburo: A bath heated directly from beneath, with a floating wooden lid on which the bather sits causing it to sink (named after the robber Goemon Ishikawa, who was boiled to death in one)
Irori: A cooking hearth built into the floor. Ash is spread inside the pit, and firewood is used for fuel. Along with helping to heat a home, people boil water or grill fish here.
Kotsatsu: A leg warmer consisting of an infrared heater positioned under a quilt-covered table.
