We cannot say enough good things about our curling experience today!
We spent Christmas Day curling as a family in Karuizawa and it turned out to be one of the most unexpectedly fun experiences of our trip in Japan
The instructor gave very clear instructions in English and made everything easy to understand, even though we were complete beginners.
Before getting started, the instructor really emphasized safety: how to walk on the ice, how to fall safely, and what not to do.
We learned how to push off from the hack, throw a stone (rock), sweep, and slide on the ice, then finished with a fun mini game together with the other participants.
The instructor was super encouraging and funny, which kept everyone laughing.
Curling here is a great activity for families and groups; it feels like a mix of sport and teamwork, and everyone can participate regardless of age or fitness level.
Highly recommend this experience to all tourists visiting Karuizawa who want to try something unique beyond skiing and shopping.
