革にハサミを入れる。

通常右手で切った場合、切った線を中心に向かって左の「作為」によって切り出される革と右の「無作為」の革とに分かれる。

切り出すつもりの無かったその形に美を見いだし、靴やバッグを制作している一人の男性がいる。

曽田耕。４２歳。

２０歳から靴を中心としたモノづくりをスタート。

NPWは皮革産業という抗えない大きな流れの中で、不要として日々排出されるありふれた材だけを使い

金槌１つ、短時間で制作可能なバッグ。

それらはまるで巷に溢れるシタリガオしたバッグを茶化すかの様に軽やかで雄弁な佇まい。

この学校は、浅草の靴職人曽田耕が考案したバッグNPW365を誰でも気軽に作れるワークショップです。

Ko Soda

A leather sheet is cut with scissors.

When using right hand, it is divided into two different pieces. The left of the cutoff line is an “intentional” piece, and the right of the cutoff line is an “unintentional” piece.

There is a man who has found the beauty in those unintentionally cut leather shapes and uses them to make shoes and bags.

Ko Soda (age 42)

Soda started making primarily shoes when he was 20 years old.

NPW is the bag which can be made in a short time using only one hammer and usual, dumped and unnecessary material in the huge leather industry.

It is lighthearted and eloquent as if it makes fun of those frequent, boring and triumphant bags.

選任講師　ふるもと　ひろし

広島在住。

1974年生まれ。

2003年よりfooをオープン。

初年度からKoの取り扱いもスタート。

2014年8月にfooで開催し大成功に終わったワークショップ「NPW365をつくってみる」をキッカケに曽田氏本人からNPWワークショップ講師として正式に推薦任命。

日常の中で、誰かや自分の為に作られたような「用の必然」があり、そこに「日常と工夫」が積み重なっていくモノこそが普遍性を持つと考えています。
