１人目

It was a super interesting event where I experienced the environment where “sound” is no longer used. There were various experience, from experiencing music with vibration, seeing words in everyday living, until creating a painting using sound. The most important thing I learned is that if we reduce our ability to hear, we can still maximize the other senses.

Here are some notes I took while experiencing the event:

Music is something that comes from several elements such as sound, melody, harmony, rhythm. Even without sound, we can still feel the music by sensing the rhythm and adjust it to our heartbeat. This made me think that there are various ways of enjoying something even when we’re not able to do it as usual. Thus, there are also various ways of enjoying daily life (communication, mobilization, creation) even during the environment we’re not used to.

Another way to enjoy making a painting: by combining it with sensory experience. One of the activities I experienced used the loudness of sounds as the color of creating a painting of fireworks. It’s interesting because usually, we know how high/low the sound is by hearing it. But now we are able to identify how high/low the sound is by the different colors. For example, we can create red when we produce high sound, and yellow if it’s low sound.

We rely too much on sound while living in this world, and sometimes we think that “hearing sounds” is something obvious. However, when sound is no longer here, how can we communicate? How can we convey things and understand each other?

2人目

日常的に感じられない事を経験させていただいてありがとうございます。耳が聞こえない事にすごく抵抗があったのですが難しながらも伝わる事の嬉しさなど人ってすごいなって感じました。

常に五感にとても頼っている生活にすごく気づくことも出来たし、無意識にコミュニケーションをとっている時もあったりしたのですが、コミュニケーションの大切さを改めて実感しました。

深海駅の切符をもらった瞬間、ワクワクしたし、何が始まるのかな～と楽しみだった。

おもしろいけどむずかしい・・・言葉が通じない外国に行った感じに似ていると思った。

３つのアクティビティもよく考えられていて、特に品物を伝えるのは、通じたときはうれしかった。

聞こえないことを疑似体験することで、聴覚障害者の方の立場になって考えることができた。

また、どこかで同じ企画があったら友達を連れて参加したいと思った。

「楽しい」と「難しい」という相反する２つがまずは感想です。

３つの活動を通して、他の方たちととても楽しく時間を過ごすことができました。身振り手振りだけで他者に伝えることの難しさも感じつつ、相手に伝わったときのうれしさも味わいました。

活動それぞれを担当された方々の持ち味や伝え方のおかげで、こちらもなんとかがんばれた気がします。

また今回のようなイベントをぜひやってほしいです。また参加したい！そう思わせるものでした。
