Ma Place means “My place” in French. I believe that learning another language is like having another place where you belong. My Japanese lessons will be a “place” where you can sigh with relief and be filled with energy.

Teacher profile／
20 years experience doing secretarial and office work in private enterprises such as manufacturers and trading companies, and also at educational institutions such as universities. This allows me to support you with, not only your everyday Japanese, but also either Japanese for work and "Academic Japanese". Bachelor of Arts in Japanese literature at Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto.

Lesson time／
The lesson time below is negotiable. Don't hesitate to contact me.
Weekdays after 6PM and Saturdays lesson time slots are basically available for online lessons only but conditions are negociable. For morning persons or those who live out of Japan, I can also give online lessons from 4:30 to 6:30AM (JST).

The cherry blossoms in the park were beautiful when I went jogging yesterday.

Les cerisiers du parc étaient beaux quand j'ai fait du jogging hier.

この文で「こうえん」が「公園」であるのは明らかです。

It is clear that "kōen" in this sentence means "park".

Il est évident que « kōen» dans cette phrase signifie "parc".

「講演」「公演」「好演」「後援」等の同音異義語を思い浮かべる人はいないはずです。

No one would think of homophones such as 講演 (lecture), 公演 (performance), 好演 (good performance) or 後援 (sponsorship).

Personne ne penserait à des homophones tels que 講演 (conférence), 公演 (représentation), 好演 (bonne performance) ou 後援 (soutien).

音が少ない分、日本語には同音異義語がたくさん存在します。

Due to its limited number of sounds, Japanese has many homophones.

En raison de son nombre limité de sons, le japonais a de nombreux homophones.

例えば「こうしょう」には48の同音異義語があるそうです。

For example, it's said that the word "kōshō" has 48!

Par exemple, il paraît que le mot « kōshō » en possède 48 !

通常、会話やニュースを聞く時、文脈で同音異義語を判別しています。

We usually use the context to distinguish homophones when listening to conversations or news.

D'habitude, on utilise le contexte pour distinguer les homophones quand on écoute une conversation ou les nouvelles.

私も生徒の話を聞く時、文脈を頼りにして話の筋を追っているのですが、どうしても推測できない時があるのです。

I also rely on context to follow the conversation when listening to my students, but sometimes I simply cannot guess...

日本語の発音で大切なのは、*拍の感覚です。

Mora* perception is essential for Japanese pronunciation.

La perception des mores* est essentielle pour la prononciation du japonais.

A 'mora' is a unit of sound equivalent in length to one Japanese kana (or two of the contracted sounds called yo-on, which are written with small kana.

→ e.g. さ・く・ら：3 moras, きょ・う：2 moras

Un more est une unité de son correspondant à la longueur d'un kana japonais (ou deux pour les sons contractés appelés yo-on).

→ ex. さ・く・ら：3 mores, きょ・う：2 mores

「こうしょう」を例に挙げましょう。

「こうしょう」は4拍で発音します：こ・う・しょ・う

It is pronounced with four beats: ko-u-sho-u.

C'est prononcé avec quatre temps : ko-u-sho-u.

このリズムが崩れると、日本語母語話者の耳には「こしょう」「こうしょ」「こしょ」などと聞こえてしまいます。

If this rhythm is disrupted, it will sound like "koshō," "kōsho," or "kosho" to native Japanese speakers.
