Such a great, fun experience with a couple with generations of experience in washi paper making! They were so sweet and helpful, even let us know the setsubun festival was happening this week. We loved our finished product to take home as our souvenir. I highly recommend taking an hour to do this workshop and learn more about the art of washi paper making.

Wonderful way to spend an hour. The shop was easy to find, our paper expert Hiro offered a warm greeting. The space was lovely, surrounded by beautiful paper products. There were three of us in the session, which felt about right. We learned about the paper-making process and were guided in scooping frames through troughs full of an emulsion that included the essential mulberry pulp. Dried flowers, leaves, grasses were provided and we were able to create our own patterns. This all emerged, with hanging and drying, into proper paper within the hour! English was spoken throughout, clear guidance was provided. It was a great experience. Strongly recommend.
