ラム・カツィール個展『がんばって』
この度THE MIRRORではラム・カツィ－ルの個展『がんばって』を開催いたします。
本展はグラングリーン大阪うめきた公園内に設置されるラム・カツィ－ルの新作彫刻『Yumemitai』の一般公開を記念して開催されます。
展覧会のテーマは人間の成長と無常です。展示される3点の作品は石、金属、ムービーという異なる素材で制作され、人生とは束の間の出来事であり常に変化していくものだということを表現します。
ラム・カツィ－ルの考えは、仏教の三通りの怒りの教えに想を得ています。その教えは岩のような人（岩に書いた字がいつまでも消えないように怒りが消えずいつまでも心や安らかにならない）、砂のような人（砂に書いた字のように一時は怒るがやがて消えてしまう人）、水のような人（水に字を書いても何も残らないように常に平然とし心安らかな人）のたとえです。この度の作品の素材は岩＝石、砂＝金属、水＝ムービーという意味で選ばれ、それぞれが人生の意味（永遠、変幻、無常）を表現します。
松川ボックスの空間の中でゆっくりと作品を鑑賞し、その意味するところに想いを馳せていただければ幸いです。

ラム・カツィール
ラム・カツィールはアムステルダムを拠点に活動するビジュアル・アーティストです。ニューヨークのクーパー・ユニオンで彫刻を学び、アムステルダムのリートフェルト・アカデミーでアニメーションを学んだラム・カツィールは、1990年代後半、子どものイメージとナチスのプロパガンダを並置したインスタレーション『Your Coloring Book』で国際的な評価を得ました。この作品はニューヨーク近代美術館の展覧会Open Endsでも紹介されました。アムステルダム市立美術館、エルサレムのイスラエル美術館、京都芸術センターなどで個展を開催。上海ビエンナーレ、広州トリエンナーレ、瀬戸内国際芸術祭などの国際展にも参加しています。
ラム・カツィールは20年以上にわたり、世界中の都市計画家、ランドスケープ・デザイナー、建築家らと協働し、パブリックアートを制作してきました。主なパブリックアート作品には横浜三井ビルの『Grow』、久屋大通公園の『Stay』、パークシティ大崎の『Acorn』、グラングリーン大阪うめきた公園『Yumemitai』があります。（いずれも清水敏男のキュレーションによる）また台北の信義広場、アムステルダムのオリンピア広場、上海の外灘西地区のインスタレーション作品があります。
ラム・カツィールは悲劇と喜劇、親しいものと親しくないものを合体させ鑑賞者に知覚を再認識させる作品を制作しています。多くの作品が世界各地のパブリック・コレクション、プライベート・コレクションに加えられています。
アーティスティック・ディレクター：清水敏男
東京都庭園美術館キュレーター、水戸芸術館現代美術センター芸術監督を経て1997年よりTOSHIO SHIMIZU ART OFFICE主宰。Ise Cultural Foundation（New York）芸術監督（1998年〜2001年）、上海ビエンナーレ芸術監督（2000年）、上海万国博覧会日本産業館キュレーター（2010年）などを歴任。東京ミッドタウン六本木・日比谷、大手町フィナンシャルタワーなどの数多くのパブリックアートを手掛ける。2004年から2023年度まで学習院女子大学・大学院教授（美術史、アートマネジメント）を務め、現在、学習院女子大学名誉教授。公益財団法人徳間記念アニメー ション文化財団(三鷹の森ジブリ美術館)評議員、公益財団法人新宿区未来 創造財団理事。

※1時間に10名まで予約を受け付けます。複数名の予約はできませんので、一名ずつでのお申し込みをお願いいたします。
※ご予約の時間内にご入場、ご見学ください。時間内であればいつでも入場できますが入れ替え制になりますので見学時間に余裕を持ってご来場ください。
※早めに到着しても待機場所はありません。住宅地ですので時間前の到着、ギャラリーの外での待機は近隣へのご迷惑となるためご遠慮ください。
※飲食持ち込み不可です。

Ganbatte，A Solo Exhibition by Ram Katzir
THE MIRROR presents Ram Katzir's solo exhibition Ganbatte at the occasion of the opening of UMEKITA Park in Grand Green Osaka where the artist installed a new sculpture YUMEMITAI.
The exhibition explores themes of growth and impermanence through three distinct mediums: stone, metal, and movie. This intimate exhibition invites viewers to reflect on life's fleeting essence and the evolving roles within its cycles.
Inspired by Buddhist teaching on the importance and lasting effects of our actions, Katzir uses materials that echo the concept of writing on water, sand, and stone, symbolizing the transient, semi-permanent, and enduring nature of our deeds.

About Ram Katzir
Ram Katzir is a visual artist based in Amsterdam. Katzir’s artworks often have a disorienting nature: inside is outside, and what seems far away is very near. The result is a world in which the foreign and the familiar coexist unexpectedly. The search for a home, whether physical or spiritual, is a recurring theme in his oeuvre. Katzir studied sculpture at The Cooper Union in New York and animation at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He gained international recognition in the late 1990s with Your Coloring Book, an installation that juxtaposed children’s imagery with Nazi propaganda. This project traveled to six countries and was featured in MoMA’s Open Ends exhibition. Katzir’s work has been displayed in solo exhibitions at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Jewish Museum, and Kyoto Art Center, with upcoming solo shows at The Mirror Gallery in Tokyo and Fosun Foundation in Shanghai. He has also participated in international exhibitions such as the Shanghai Sculpture Biennale, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, the Guangzhou Triennale, and the Setouchi Triennale. For over two decades, Katzir has focused on public art commissions, collaborating with city planners, landscape designers, and architects. His notable public artworks include installations at Yokohama Mitsui Building, Hisaya Park in Nagoya, Park City Osaki in Tokyo, Xinyi Plaza in Taipei, Olympia Square in Amsterdam, and the Next Innovation Museum in Osaka in Umekita Park, Grand Green Osaka . Katzir’s art often merges the tragic with the comical and the familiar with the unfamiliar, encouraging viewers to reconsider their perceptions. His work is included in numerous public and private collections worldwide.
Artistic Director：TOSHIO SHIMIZU
After serving as a curator at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum and as the artistic director of the Contemporary Art Center at the Art Tower Mito, he has been the principal of TOSHIO SHIMIZU ART OFFICE since 1997. He served as the artistic director of the Ise Cultural Foundation (New York) from 1998 to 2001, the artistic director of the Shanghai Biennale in 2000, and the curator for the Japan Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. He has been involved in numerous public art projects, including works at Tokyo Midtown Roppongi, Hibiya, and the Otemachi Financial Tower. From 2004 to 2023, he was a professor in art history and art management at Gakushuin Women's College and Graduate School, and he is currently an emeritus professor at the same institution. He is also a councilor of the Tokuma Memorial Cultural Foundation for Animation (Ghibli Museum, Mitaka) and a trustee of the Future Creation Foundation of Shinjuku City.
